Check out this record setting Tuna caught by Matt Shepard from a kayak off of the North Carolina coast. This story is courtesy of Field and Stream . This is pretty amazing, and now I really want that Kayak
The predator is a nice boat! Not to take away from homedude's experience, which by far tops any fish I've landed in a kayak, but part of fishing - especially for big (over 5lb) fish in the kayak is going it alone, knowing that you have absolutely nobody and nothing to rely on if the boat capsizes, shark bites, alligator swims up, etc.
That photo feels to me like the African safari hunts where the dude really does kill the animal on his own, which is a real accomplishment, but right behind him is a landrover full of other dudes with automatic weapons. Just in case.
Swamp Thing, thanks for the comments. The predator is my favorite boat.(who knows when that dream will come true) I dont know what this guy was using though. You bring up a really good point. Is it really the same fishing from a kayak with the "mother" boat watching close by? Your safari analogy might be right on. Its not quite "The Old Man and the Sea" is it. In any case, I am sure it was still quite the adventure. Thanks again for your comments.
I came across this deer while looking at the Biologic Farming for Wildlife website. He recently had to be put down after an infection that started in his antlers spread too fast. Click on the pic to learn more about this World Record Whitetail. Its never just about the antlers, and by no means am I for raising trophy deer to sell to outfitters, or high fence operations or any of that, but DANG, never seen anything like that before.
